Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 8, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how The Maven Distillery and its affiliates ("The Maven," "we," "us," or "our") collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you visit our website at themavenwhiskey.com (and related domains), request access to our allocations, sign up for our communications, visit or tour our distillery, or otherwise interact with us, whether online or offline.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our website or providing information to us, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or provide us with your information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above shows when it was last revised, and any changes take effect when we post the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review it periodically.
Legal drinking age and no collection from minors
Our website and products are intended only for individuals who are of legal drinking age (21 or older in the United States). We ask you to confirm you are of legal drinking age before entering the site.
We check your age in your browser and do not store, transmit, or log your date of birth. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the legal drinking age. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 21, we will delete it as promptly as possible. Please do not share this website or its contents with anyone underage. If you believe someone under 21 has provided us personal information, contact us at info@themavenwhiskey.com.
What we mean by "personal information"
"Personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked with you or your household. It does not include publicly available information or information that has been de-identified or aggregated so it can no longer reasonably be associated with you.
Information we collect: Information you provide to us
- Contact and identity information — such as your full name, email address, and ZIP code, which you provide when you request access to our allocations or join our list.
- Account information — because requesting access creates an account, we associate your contact details with your account and your communication history with us.
- Communications and preferences — your marketing and email preferences, and the content of messages, questions, feedback, or survey responses you send us.
- Event and tour information — details you provide when you book, attend, or inquire about a distillery tour or event.
We do not ask for, and request that you not send us, sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health information, except where we specifically request it for a defined purpose (for example, age or identity verification for an event or a promotion) and tell you why at the time.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies, including:
- Device and usage data — such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times of your visits.
- Approximate location — such as the general geographic area derived from your IP address.
For details about the specific cookies and similar technologies we use, and how to control them, please see our Cookie Policy.
Information we receive from third parties
- Analytics and advertising partners — such as Google and Meta, which provide us information about how our website and advertising perform.
- Social media — if you interact with us on platforms like Instagram, we may receive information such as your handle and public profile details, subject to that platform’s privacy settings and policies.
How we use your personal information
We use your personal information to:
- Process your request for access and create and administer your account;
- Send you the communications you signed up for — including launch updates, allocation and bottle availability information, event invitations, and members-only news;
- Respond to your questions, feedback, and support requests;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and services, including analyzing how the site is used;
- Measure and improve the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising;
- Administer promotions, contests, tastings, tours, and events;
- Protect against, investigate, and deter fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents (for example, our bot-protection on the access-request form); and
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We may also create and use de-identified or aggregated information, which is not subject to this Privacy Policy, for any lawful business purpose.
How we share your personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share it in the following ways:
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services for us and process information on our behalf under contract, including: website hosting and infrastructure, our email marketing platform (Klaviyo), analytics (Google Analytics), bot and spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and event and fulfillment providers. We permit them to use your information only to provide services to us.
- Advertising and analytics partners. We work with partners such as Meta and Google to measure and deliver advertising. Some of this activity may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising under U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out — see Your Privacy Choices below.
- Affiliates. We may share information with our corporate affiliates for the purposes described in this Policy.
- Legal, safety, and business transfers. We may disclose information to comply with law or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, and property of The Maven, our customers, or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business.
Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels (including the Meta Pixel), and server-side measurement (including Meta’s Conversions API, through which we may send a hashed version of your email address to measure advertising performance) to operate the site, understand how it is used, and measure our advertising. You control optional cookies through our consent tool and the Your Privacy Choices link in our website footer. See our Cookie Policy for full details, including how we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
Your marketing choices
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us at info@themavenwhiskey.com. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you non-promotional messages about your account or transactions.
Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, U.S. state privacy laws (such as those in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and other states) may give you the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:
- Right to know / access — to confirm whether we process your personal information and to request access to it, including the categories we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we share it with.
- Right to correct — to request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to delete — to request that we delete personal information we collected from you.
- Right to data portability — to request a copy of your personal information in a portable, usable format where technically feasible.
- Right to opt out — to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not use your information for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
- Right to appeal — in states that provide it, if we decline your request you may appeal our decision by contacting us at info@themavenwhiskey.com.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, contact us at info@themavenwhiskey.com. We will verify your request by matching the information you provide with information in our records, and we may ask for additional information to confirm your identity. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent’s authority and verification of your identity.
To opt out of targeted advertising and the sale/sharing of your information, use the Your Privacy Choices link in our website footer, or set your browser’s Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we treat as a valid opt-out of analytics and marketing cookies for that browser. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy — for example, for as long as you have an account or remain on our list — and as needed to meet our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us sensitive information by email.
Third-party websites and services
Our website may link to third-party sites and services (for example, Instagram). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
